Used for decades together in Chinese practices, acupressure comes with the similar principles as acupuncture to enhance wellness, relaxation and to treat illness. In simple words, acupressure is nothing but acupuncture, without the needles. It is closely associated with other form of Chinese therapy, shiatsu. It’s believed that the changes in nature (or external factors, unhealthy lifestyle) leave a huge impact on human lives spiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally. Asian therapists believed that diseases caused by such factors can lead to illness or trauma, which can be corrected using medical massages or therapies, thereby producing balance and harmony within body.

How does it work?

According to the theory, the special points, often described as acupressure points in the body that connects the network of organs or specific organ is chosen for respective treatment. When any of these organs or body channels going out of balance or getting blocked, diseases usually occurs. Acupressure is a thought-out treatment to help restore stability and overall wellbeing.

Acupressure works by applying pressure on particular point that has network of connection with the specific body organ. The different techniques like calm, disperse, tonify are applied in circular movements or combinations of push and out to treat the condition.

How to administer?

Though acupressure can be taken by people of any age, it’s best to consult the therapists, if you’re pregnant or having high-blood pressure. This treatment is not suitable to cure open wounds, varicose veins, scar tissues or swelling.  These can be treated in other methods using oils or herbs.

Acupressure is one of the best therapies to restore the flow and correct functional imbalances to get a more natural shape of well-being. Unstable concentration and memory loss can lead to many problems in life. The acupressure therapy, such as free hand massage point, third eye point can help you to relax, thereby improving your memory power and concentration.

Be sure to discuss with your therapists regarding the problem you’re facing, such as mental stress, feeling tired often or decreased memory or concentration, etc.

It’s quite common for first-timers to undergo some painful massage, but don’t panic! If you’re feeling dizzy or low, you should clarify with your therapist.
