The solution is more inclusive and therefore more aesthetic than the composite, on all of the dentition. It will be preferred for problems affecting more teeth, or a larger area. The enamel is better imitated by ceramics, with reflections and shine. Veneers are also much more resistant to food stains. But you have to prepare the tooth to receive a facet and this involves filing it which leads to irreversible tissue damage of 10 to 20%. We can no longer find his natural tooth.
Cost: Rehabilitation with ceramic Veneer generally requires three treatment sessions and costs from 800 to 1,300 euros per tooth (depending on the dental office and the prosthetist). Considered as having a purely aesthetic purpose, the facets are not covered by social security, but may be covered by certain mutuals in the form of a package.
The film facets
Although they work in the same way, film facets differ from conventional facets in their thickness. Extremely fine (0.1 to 0.2mm for Lumineers veneers), it does not, in most cases, need to file the teeth. The patient will thus be able to find his natural teeth which will just have to be re-polished.
Note all the same that these facets are not necessarily intended to cover a whole row of teeth, it all depends on the clinical case and the aesthetic project decided according to the patient’s wishes.
Reconstruction of missing teeth
Sometimes teeth are deeply damaged or fall out. In these cases of total rehabilitation of the tooth, the dental implant is the most advanced and long-lasting solution. When it is necessary to treat several teeth of the same row, or of the two rows, more the trouble to think “denture”: thanks to the implants in cooperation with bridges, it is a natural and permanent rejuvenation of your smile that you create.
The dental implant: a proven revolution
Dental rehabilitation
- The dental implant replaces a dead or damaged root and allows the installation of an aesthetic and comfortable crown.
- The implant is a “false root” which replaces the damaged or dead root. This artificial titanium root is placed in the jaw bone, and its constitution and positioning stimulate bone healing. The bone heals all around the new root so that it can stay in place forever, once the “graft” has taken.
Then, after the healing time, just screw on a ceramic crown, and you have a new tooth, perfectly anchored, solid and very natural. Do not be afraid, you do not remain “toothless” during the healing process (which can take 6 to 10 weeks): a temporary prosthesis is attached to the implant from the first day.
To be able to take advantage of implant technology, you need to have a good bone condition of the jaw, and a healthy gum. If the root is in good condition, the dentist will not propose an implant, but directly the installation of a dental crown on your natural root.
